H1N1 Flu Vaccination:

Our supply of the H1N1 vaccine has not yet arrived. We are expecting to begin receiving it in mid- to late-October. The CDC does not expect a shortage of this vaccine, but initially, only a small supply will be available. For this reason, we are required to give priority for receiving the vaccine to those at higher risk from the disease.

The priority groups – or first to get the H1N1 vaccine are:

  • Pregnant women
  • Persons who live with or care for children younger than 6 months of age
  • Healthcare and emergency services personnel
  • Persons age 6 months through 24 years
  • Persons age 25-64 years who are at higher risk for novel H1N1 because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems.

Children under the age of 9 will require 2 doses of H1N1 vaccine.
