Telemedicine/Car Visits

What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine offers a convenient virtual visit when you are unable to come into the office; a solution so that patients can receive treatment at any time from the comfort of their own home.

  • Convenience

  • Board Certified Providers

  • The privacy and comfort of your own home

  • No waiting rooms filled with other sick people

  • Less expensive than a visit to your primary care physician, or the emergency room

Our team of board-certified physicians is here to provide you with the highest quality healthcare for your non-emergent medical conditions. We are also here to answer/discuss any medical questions you may have via phone or online video consulting. This service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and only available for use if the patient is in the state of North Carolina. If you have a Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop, PC, iPad, and the internet you have access to a medical professional.

How to Use Telemedicine?

You will first have to call our office at 828-651-0121. If it is during business hours and you are not able to physically come in to be seen by one of our physicians, our clinical staff will triage your symptoms and determine if telemedicine can be done. If you are calling after hours, the answering service will provide this information to the physician on call and that physician will determine if a telemedicine visit is necessary. After it is approved for telemedicine to be done, the physician will send you a link and a nine-digit access code via email or text message. First you will use the link to download a program that will make the video conference possible. As soon as that program is installed you will use the nine-digit access code to start the session.

Telemedicine visits can only occur when you are in the state of North Carolina.

Conditions / Ailments / Illness Treated With Telemedicine

Getting a timely appointment with your primary care provider can sometimes be not so timely. This can and does result in visiting the urgent cares and emergency departments for many non-emergent conditions. This is not only inconvenient, costly and time consuming, it exposes us to the harsh elements at all hours of the day or night and the contagious illnesses in those areas. Our team of US board certified providers can see, treat and prescribe medications for your non-emergent conditions before you could drive to your local urgent care or emergency department.
