FAQ

When can I call the office?

Our phones are active and available for calls during our normal office hours. We do not close for lunch so feel free to call any time for assistance. If an urgent matter arises after hours, an on-call physician is available to help. Just call the office at 828-651-0121 and press 1 to be connected with them.

What kind of forms can I expect at each appointment?

Before every appointment, an electronic registration is required 48 hours in advance. With this registration, we must have a valid credit/debit card on file as well as a photo of your most up to date insurance card. Insurance companies require the card to be shown at each visit, even if the info is the same. Failure to provide this will result in the cancellation of the appointment. If a patient arrives to the visit without any verified insurance, a $500 deposit will be billed to the account. If electronic forms are not possible, we ask that you make arrangements ahead of time to come fill those out in person.

What happens if I forget to cancel my appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask for a 24 hours notice beforehand. The text and email reminders from our office are sent as a courtesy. In the case that we fail to provide these, you are still responsible for cancellation. Failure to provide 24 hours notice or failure to show for the appointment will result in a $25 fee that will be billed to your account.

What should I do if I have a form that needs to be signed by my doctor?

If you have a form that needs to be signed by your physician, we ask that any information that you can fill out is complete before dropping off. Please give at least 48 hours notice for any forms due on a specific date. If you drop them off on the day that they are due, there is no guarantee that they will be complete. Also, you must have been seen for your yearly physical or well child check in the last year for any form to be completed

What’s the best way to send a message to my doctor?

For any non-urgent questions for your provider, please feel free to contact them on your patient portal. Please be aware that the portal is not the best place for urgent messages, especially those regarding current symptoms you are experiencing. For those kinds of messages, call the office and the front staff will either transfer you to a medical assistant or take your message to send back to the doctor. The Physicians will address any messages once they have completed patient care. Please be patient as you wait for a response.

I just tested positive for Covid but don’t feel sick enough for a visit. What do I do? Our office follows the guidelines for Covid provided by the CDC. Please follow the link below for guidance on quarantine and work restrictions:

Do I need to fast for my labs?

Patients should drink water or black coffee the morning of their labs but not eat or drink anything else. If you have an afternoon lab appointment, you should eat a good breakfast, drink plenty of water throughout the day, and skip lunch until your labs are drawn.

When will my lab results come back and how will I receive them?

Results of any tests may take several days to a week to come back and once the physician reviews them, you will receive a portal message. If you are not signed up for the portal, one of the Medical Assistants will give you a call.

When is my referral going to be sent?

Referrals are processed within 24 hours of the physician completing the order. The office that we refer to can take up to two weeks to process the referral and call you to schedule. To check on the status, you will need to call the office in which we referred you to. If you need their info, just give the office a call and we will provide that for you.

If my child can drive, can they just come to their visit by themselves?

Only patients 16 and older may come to their visits without a parent. However, we do require either verbal consent over the phone or a written and signed note from the parent stating that the child is allowed to be seen and treated without them. In addition to this, the parent must be available to reach by phone during the appointment in case anything is needed.

I think I need an X-Ray, should I schedule an appointment with my doctor here?

Please be aware that our office does not have any x-ray machines on site. You would have to be seen by a physician first and then have an order sent to another facility nearby. For any orthopedic related injuries, we recommend Emerge Ortho walk-in clinics. They have multiple locations across Asheville and would be able to provide an x-ray at the time of your visit
